The mystery short film 'Slide Strum Mute', directed by Park Se-young and starring WOODZ, Justin Min, and Jung Hoi-rin, is set to premiere.
Releasing on the 26th, 'Slide Strum Mute' follows the story of 'Woo-jin', who, after failing an audition, plays a broken guitar left by a mysterious man, leading him to traverse cursed time driven by desire. Park Se-young, who gained attention with his first feature film 'The Fifth Vertebra', takes on the roles of writer, director, cinematographer, and editor for this project.
WOODZ not only crafted the original concept but also participated in the entire production process, bringing the film to life. In his lead role, WOODZ portrays 'Woo-jin', an aspiring musician who embarks on a journey fueled by inner desires after acquiring a mysterious guitar. Justin Min plays 'Nam-gi', the owner of the cursed guitar, while Jung Hoi-rin takes on the role of 'Si-eun', Woo-jin's sister.
The film's title, proposed by WOODZ, reflects the overarching theme of 'rebellion', which also permeates his upcoming debut album. The narrative likens Woo-jin's life to guitar techniques: 'Slide' represents the calm beginning of Woo-jin's journey, 'Strum' captures the fleeting moments when his desires come to life through the cursed guitar, and 'Mute' signifies the shocking conclusion where his unchecked desires lead to an inevitable end.
Ahead of its release, 'Slide Strum Mute' has surpassed 10,000 real-time ticket reservations, ranking 4th in overall reservation rates according to the Korean Film Council's integrated network as of 7 PM on February 25th.
