Korean TV personality Seo Jang-hoon offered advice to a guest on the latest episode of KBS Joy's 'Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller.'
In the 353rd episode, which aired on the night of the 23rd, a tall sibling duo appeared, seeking mediation in a family conflict over a wedding. The sister, standing at 174cm, and her brother, at 196cm, immediately caught the audience's attention. The brother, who was scouted by a rowing coach during his high school years, is currently an active rowing athlete.
The sister shared her concerns, saying, "My brother is planning to get married this year, but the preparation process has led to constant arguments with our mother, making it difficult for me to mediate." Last December, the brother surprised his family by introducing his girlfriend on his birthday and visiting a wedding expo the very next day.
Although their mother was initially shocked, she advised him to just observe the atmosphere without making any decisions. However, the brother, known for being easily swayed, went ahead and booked all the wedding services. Understanding her son's intentions, the mother requested a lunchtime ceremony in Seoul to accommodate relatives and friends from out of town. The brother, however, explained that he chose Suwon for the venue as it was centrally located for everyone involved.
Despite the mother's compromise, she insisted on a lunchtime ceremony, but the brother finalized a 5 PM wedding, leading to her opposing the marriage altogether.
Seo Jang-hoon expressed his frustration, saying, "Your mother has compromised enough; you should consider her wishes too." He empathized with the mother's perspective, noting that the wedding day could be the most significant event in the parents' lives as well. He advised the brother to not disregard his mother's opinions for the sake of convenience.
Upon hearing that the wedding is scheduled for October 31st, Lee Soo-geun, another host, suggested that there is still time to make changes and encouraged the brother to negotiate with his mother. The brother acknowledged his mistake in setting the date unilaterally and promised to arrange accommodations for guests traveling for the wedding.
