According to Big Boss Entertainment, Lee Joo-seung's grandfather, the late Lee Jong-kyu, passed away on the 22nd at the age of 97.
The funeral is being held at Room 103 of Konkuk University Hospital Funeral Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Lee Joo-seung is listed as the chief mourner, and the funeral service is scheduled for 9:10 AM on the 24th.
The late Lee Jong-kyu gained recognition when he appeared alongside his grandson on the MBC variety show 'I Live Alone' in February 2024. He was introduced as a Korean War veteran who served as an officer and later worked as an elementary school teacher, leaving a lasting impression on viewers. During the show, Lee Joo-seung expressed his deep affection for his grandfather, stating that he visited him often.
This news comes shortly after the passing of Lee Joo-seung's close friend Koo Sung-hwan's pet dog, Kkotbooni. On the 21st, Lee Joo-seung shared his condolences on Instagram, writing, "Kkotbooni, who was a true comfort during tough times, I love you." He has since paused his YouTube activities.
