In the final episode of Channel A's weekend drama 'A Baby on the Way,' which aired on the 22nd, Doo-joon (played by Choi Jin-hyuk) and Hee-won (played by Oh Yeon-seo) found happiness in both love and work. The finale recorded a viewership rating of 1.9%, maintaining its 1% range throughout its broadcast.
Jeong-eum (played by Baek Eun-hye) defiantly confronted Chan-gil (played by Son Byung-ho), saying, "What you were worried about was me shamelessly clinging to the family after losing my husband, possibly taking over the household, and taking your son's place, wasn't it?" Meanwhile, Seon-jeong (played by Kim Soo-jin) supported Doo-joon and Hee-won's strong bond, saying, "I believe you two can handle anything together. Marriage is nothing special. Just live supporting each other like today. I couldn't do it, but you're different from me."
Later, Doo-joon saved Se-hyun (played by Jang Ye-bin) from a car accident threat and reconciled with Jeong-eum, saying, "Looking back, I never properly apologized. I'm truly sorry for not saving my brother that day, causing you to lose two loved ones, and making your life a living hell."
Doo-joon then confessed to Hee-won, "I'm sorry it took so long to hold your hand. Now that I have, I never want to let go. Will you marry me?" The couple then enjoyed a sweet romance, a proposal, and eventually tied the knot. Hee-won also launched a beer brand named after herself, thriving in her career and living a confident and independent life. Additionally, Mi-ran's (played by Kim Da-som) unrequited love for Min-wook (played by Hong Jong-hyun) showed positive signs, hinting at a happier future for them.
The series concluded with a narration from Hee-won, "When I saw the two lines on the test a year ago, it felt like the world stopped. I wasn't ready for marriage or a baby in this life, and I was completely taken aback. It was the biggest variable in my life. But I wasn't alone. I had someone who loved me unconditionally and many friends who supported me. Through ups and downs, I learned how to become a real family. As this child grew, so did I. I learned how to love, forgive, and be happy. Having a baby wasn't just about a new life; it changed all our lives. And that variable became the greatest gift of my life," as Hee-won experienced morning sickness, marking a happy ending for 'A Baby on the Way.'
