Kim Seon-tae, the driving force behind Chungju City's official channel 'ChungTV' reaching nearly 1 million subscribers, is at the center of rumors regarding a potential recruitment by the White House. Amidst these speculations, past comments he made about President Lee Jae-myung are being revisited.

On the YouTube channel 'Imyeonsoda', a video titled 'Will Chungju Man Succeed if He Goes Freelance?' was released on the 8th of last month. In the video, Kim, appearing as a guest, began by discussing a fellow civil servant who had recently been transferred.

When asked by the host about the secret to his long tenure, Kim replied, "I was designated as a specialist, which grants me the right to stay longer." He added, "In theory, I could stay indefinitely, but if my position is deemed unnecessary, it could be dissolved. Honestly, if there's a change in the personnel authority or the mayor, the chances of me leaving are high."

Kim further revealed, "Recently, the Ministry of Personnel Management contacted me for a lecture, which I initially declined, but they insisted this time." When asked why, he said, "They mentioned it was a request from quite high up." The host then inquired, "Could that 'high up' be Jae-myung (President Lee Jae-myung)?" to which Kim responded, "No comment."

Meanwhile, it was reported that Kim submitted his resignation to Chungju City Hall on the 13th and subsequently met with Kang Hoon-sik, the Chief of Staff to the President, fueling rumors of his recruitment by the presidential office. Following the news of Kim's resignation, approximately 220,000 subscribers reportedly unsubscribed from ChungTV.
