On the episode of TV Chosun's 'Miss Trot 4' aired on the 19th, Hong Sung-yoon scored a total of 1866 points, combining scores from both rounds of the 'Legend Mission,' placing him in second place overall.
The 'Legend Mission' featured personal performances with legendary figures Kim Soo-hee, Choi Jin-hee, Kim Yeon-ja, and Kim Yong-im. Hong Sung-yoon, who has been leading the national support vote, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I never expected so many people to watch me, and I am thankful and honored every day."
Hong Sung-yoon admitted, "I am studying to improve by watching my performances," and shared that he chose his mother's favorite song after much deliberation between traditional Korean music and pop.
Performing Kim Soo-hee's 'Lonely Lover,' Hong Sung-yoon delivered a unique rendition that earned high praise from the judges. Kim Soo-hee herself complimented, "If I could steal a voice, it would be his," and added, "I'm envious; if he continues like this, he'll create his own genre," moving Hong Sung-yoon to tears. Boom also remarked, "He seems like a genius. The top ranks are becoming clear."
Hong Sung-yoon, a promising talent in traditional Korean music, graduated from Cheondong Elementary and Euneosong Middle School in Daejeon, and was recognized for his skills at the National High School of Traditional Arts and Seoul Institute of the Arts. He entered 'Miss Trot 4' on the recommendation of singer Choi Jae-myung, a senior from his school.
The final Top 10 included: 1st place Heo Chan-mi, 2nd place Hong Sung-yoon, 3rd place Gil Ryeo-won, 4th place Yoon Yoon-seo, 5th place Yoon Tae-hwa, 6th place Yeom Yoo-ri, 7th place Yoo Mi, 8th place Lee So-na, 9th place Lee El-iya, and 10th place Kim San-ha. Unfortunately, Jeok Woo, Kim Da-na, Jung Hye-rin, Jang Hye-ri, Kim Hye-jin, and Chae Yoon were eliminated.
'Miss Trot 4' is a trot audition program aiming to crown the fourth trot queen, following in the footsteps of Song Ga-in, Yang Ji-eun, and Jung Seo-joo.
