BTS member V has spoken out regarding his involvement in the legal dispute between HYBE and Min Hee-jin, former CEO of ADOR and current CEO of OK Records, after private messages were used as evidence in the case.
On the 20th, V took to his personal social media account to clarify, "These were private, everyday conversations shared with a friend. I have no intention of taking sides." He further expressed his surprise, stating, "I am quite taken aback that these conversations were submitted as evidence without my consent."
Previously, on the 12th, the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Agreement Division 31, led by Judge Nam In-soo, ruled on the lawsuit filed by HYBE to confirm the termination of a shareholder agreement and the lawsuit filed by Min Hee-jin for stock purchase payments. The court dismissed HYBE's claims and ordered a payment of approximately 25.5 billion KRW to Min Hee-jin.
The court analyzed Min Hee-jin's allegations of plagiarism by the group I-LAND of NewJeans as a legitimate expression of opinion. During this process, Min Hee-jin's side submitted KakaoTalk messages exchanged with V as evidence, which the court accepted. In the messages, V commented on the plagiarism issue raised by Min Hee-jin, saying, "Hmm... I thought it looked similar too after seeing it."
