Trot Singer Yoon Tae-hwa Opens Up About Divorce Amid Mother's Illness
Trot singer Yoon Tae-hwa has revealed her divorce, which was influenced by her mother's illness, drawing attention to the lyrics of a self-composed song she released during that period.

On September 25, 2023, Yoon Tae-hwa shared a video and photo on her Instagram, stating, "I made this song to listen to whenever I miss her, whenever the season's temperature helps me."

In the shared posts, Yoon Tae-hwa's self-composed song 'Hug Me' plays in the background. The album cover features a person, presumably her mother, embracing a young woman with long hair, who has her eyes closed.

Yoon Tae-hwa added a poignant message, "A person I want to see who disappears when I open my eyes and can only be seen when I close them," and "Thinking of you, whom I just want to run to and hug."

Previously, on the September 19 episode of TV CHOSUN's 'Miss Trot 4', Yoon Tae-hwa chose Choi Jin-hee's 'Confession' for the second round of the Legend Mission. 'Confession' is a song about deep regret after a breakup.

When Choi Jin-hee asked Yoon Tae-hwa why she chose the song, Yoon Tae-hwa hesitantly revealed, "I got married after 'Miss Trot 2', but after living together for a year, I returned," disclosing her divorce.

Yoon Tae-hwa explained, "When 'Miss Trot 2' started, my mother collapsed, and it was very difficult. I got married to my then-boyfriend, but I remained the head of the family. I had to take care of my mother, so I couldn't fulfill my role as a wife, and we decided to live our own lives after discussing it well."

Born in 1990, Yoon Tae-hwa debuted in the music industry in 2009 at the age of 19. She gained recognition through appearances on 'Tomorrow's Miss Trot 2' and 'Current King of Singers'. In March 2022, she married a non-celebrity who is eight years her senior.
