Director Jung Jong-yeon Discusses Lee Eun-ji's Departure from Netflix's 'Mystery Investigation Unit' Season 2


Director Jung Jong-yeon has spoken out about the departure of cast member Lee Eun-ji.

On the 19th, a press conference for Netflix's variety show 'Mystery Investigation Unit' Season 2 was held at Hotel Naru Seoul MGallery in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Attendees included directors Jung Jong-yeon, Kim Seo-gu, Lee Won-ki, and cast members Lee Yong-jin, John Park, Hyeri, Kim Do-hoon, Karina, and Gabi.

'Mystery Investigation Unit' Season 2 is an adventure mystery variety show that tracks and solves bizarre incidents that cannot be scientifically explained.

Previously, Lee Eun-ji, who was part of Season 1, departed from the show, and Gabi joined the cast, sparking interest. Regarding Lee Eun-ji's departure, Director Jung Jong-yeon stated, "There are various factors that influence a cast member's performance and the program's requirements. Sometimes cast members leave, and new ones join. We thought Gabi would bring more fun and benefit to the program."

Director Jung Jong-yeon further explained, "We had discussions with Lee Eun-ji and her management. It's not about anyone doing something wrong. The genre has unique aspects, and we made extra efforts to create a better program."

'Mystery Investigation Unit' Season 2 will be available exclusively on Netflix starting the 27th.
