Musical Stars Kim So-hyun and Son Jun-ho Donate Prize Money to Children's Hospital

Musical theater stars Kim So-hyun and Son Jun-ho have celebrated the Lunar New Year by donating their entire prize money from a recent TV show victory to charity.

According to their agency, Palm Tree Island, the couple emerged as the 8th honorary masters on KBS1's 'Korean Language Competition' Lunar New Year special, which aired on the 16th. On the 17th, it was announced that they donated their entire prize of 10 million won (approximately $8,400) to the Children's Hospital School at Seoul National University Hospital.

The couple expressed their gratitude, saying, "We are thankful to have achieved such a great result in a meaningful setting that reminds us of the importance of family and our language during the Lunar New Year. We decided to donate the prize money, which we received together, to a meaningful cause."

The donation will be allocated to the Children's Hospital School at Seoul National University Hospital, supporting educational programs that help children with cancer and leukemia continue their studies and gain psychological stability during treatment.

Established in 1999, the Children's Hospital School is an accredited educational institution that assists school-aged patients undergoing long-term hospitalization in continuing their education and smoothly transitioning back to school. The school provides various tailored learning programs with the help of resident professional teachers and volunteers.

Kim and Son have a history of philanthropy, having previously donated their entire performance fee from a fundraising concert for the 'Hanwoori Garden' project in Seattle, USA, in 2024. They continue to spread positive messages in the entertainment industry through their ongoing charitable activities.
