Former soccer player Lee Chun-soo celebrated his wedding anniversary for the first time in 14 years.
On the 16th, the YouTube channel 'Lee Chun-soo [Lee Chun-soo]' released a video titled 'Celebrating Our Wedding Anniversary for the First Time in 14 Years... I Didn't Expect My Wife's Reaction.'
In the video, former national soccer player Lee Chun-soo expressed his regret for not celebrating their anniversary sooner, saying, "Honestly, I missed our anniversary again." His wife, Shim Ha-eun, revealed, "Christmas, the twins' birthdays, and our anniversary all come together, and it feels like you disappear during those times."
Shim Ha-eun recalled a past anniversary when they met in Osaka, and Lee gifted her eight packs of gochujang from Don Quijote, which were actually bought by someone else. Lee explained, "That was from my father."
The couple revisited the place where they first met during their dating days. Shim Ha-eun reminisced, "Back then, you tried so hard to look cool. You wore slightly crooked glasses and sat with your legs crossed. Your forehead was much narrower than it is now," she joked. Reflecting on her first impression of Lee, she admitted, "Honestly, I was a bit surprised by how you looked."
Shim Ha-eun shared the moment she felt drawn to Lee, saying, "He was criticized a lot, couldn't make eye contact, and only went out at night. I wondered why he was living so hard, and my heart went out to him."
Shim Ha-eun revealed that while her family supported their marriage, her uncle, a long-time sports journalist, was the only one who opposed it. Her father was also hesitant, saying, "We raised athletes in our family, and I was concerned about my youngest daughter marrying another athlete."
She explained that in the early days of their marriage, her uncle would investigate any incidents involving Lee, but over time, he became accustomed to it, saying, "Oh, it's happened again."
Shim Ha-eun admitted she was envious of other players' wives who shared stories of their husbands celebrating anniversaries and showing affection. "I never got a proper proposal, and we haven't even gone on a honeymoon," she confessed. Lee apologized, asking where she would like to go for a honeymoon. Shim Ha-eun replied, "Now, I'd rather create memories with the kids than go on a trip alone."
For their anniversary, Lee promised to replace his wife's broken phone, joking, "Who uses a phone by feel?" when she mentioned the screen wasn't working.
Lee Chun-soo married Shim Ha-eun, a model three years his junior, in March 2013, and they have one son and two daughters.
