Actress Song Ji-hyo Takes on Ballet Challenge with Humor and Determination

Actress Song Ji-hyo has embarked on a ballet challenge.

On October 2, Song Ji-hyo's YouTube channel featured a video titled 'Did you expect [Palace] when I said I was doing ballet?'.

In the video, Song Ji-hyo appeared in a ballet outfit, stating, "I came to learn elegant and graceful ballet," but humorously added, "It feels like I'm wearing children's clothes. I don't think I have the body for ballet."

Song Ji-hyo revealed that she had encountered ballet during her early 20s while filming the movie 'Whispering Corridors' and the drama 'Palace'. She candidly admitted, "I practiced 'Giselle' and 'Swan Lake', but ballet didn't suit me well. I remember being exhausted from stretching."

As the class began, it proved to be as challenging as expected. Struggling with the stretching exercises, Song Ji-hyo humorously complained, "Not only do my joints make noise, but I feel sounds coming from my internal organs." She even screamed during a back-bending move, revealing her lack of flexibility and core strength.

However, when it came to basic movements, Song Ji-hyo surprisingly displayed a sense of stability, catching attention. She confidently remarked, "I have some basics. I did ballet in my own way," bringing laughter.

Yet, during a short waltz routine, her clumsy charm shone through. As she lost direction and kept spinning, she exclaimed, "Why do I keep turning?" She added humor by saying, "It's important not to show that you've made a mistake," and continued her attempts, eventually declaring, "I failed," but persevered until the end.

The ballet instructor humorously evaluated her performance, saying, "What you did well today was smiling and pretending not to make mistakes." Song Ji-hyo concluded by saying, "Ballet seems helpful for posture correction and body shape management. It's an exercise that requires elegance and shamelessness," expressing her desire to continue learning.
