Lee Ah-young, the wife of actor Ryu Si-won and a math instructor, shared an update ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
On the 14th, Lee posted on her social media, "Lunar New Year holiday begins #MathInstructor," along with a photo. In the image, she is smiling in front of a classroom blackboard filled with logarithms, exponents, and equations. She is wearing an ivory double coat, emphasizing her professional image as an instructor with her long, naturally flowing hair and composed demeanor.
Previously, she had revealed her struggles with weight loss, stating, "Finally 40kg! Let's gain just 1-2kg more. Losing too much weight was stressful." She also confessed to feeling unwell, mentioning, "Eventually got sick," and had completed her last class under medication. This recent post, however, conveys a more stable atmosphere.
Lee Ah-young married Ryu Si-won in 2020. She recently gained attention by revealing her face for the first time through the show 'Joseon's Love Story.' Currently, she works as a math instructor in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and is known by the nickname 'Daechi-dong Goddess.'
Lee also made headlines by sharing her past blind date experiences. In March 2023, she appeared on the YouTube channel of her online lecture company, Etoos, and revealed, "I've only been on three blind dates, and the first one was the worst."
She explained that in her early 20s, she became acquainted with a woman in her late 30s through a social gathering. This woman later introduced her to a CEO seven years her senior, proposing a marriage-oriented meeting. However, after the first meeting, Lee felt uncomfortable and expressed her refusal, claiming persistent demands for further meetings followed.
She also mentioned receiving a so-called 'marriage project' proposal. The man offered 10 billion won, asking for 1 billion won in return or to sign a contract. Lee said, "I felt more fear when told not to tell anyone," and eventually ended the relationship after discussing it with her family.
Lee Ah-young also spoke about her reason for appearing on the show, stating, "My husband is a really good person, but it upsets me to hear negative things about him. I wanted to show that we are living well."
Ryu Si-won was previously married to a non-celebrity woman in 2010 but divorced in 2015. He remarried Lee Ah-young in 2020, and the couple welcomed a daughter in 2024.
