TV personality Hong Jin-kyung has addressed the recent news regarding the marriage of Choi Jun-hee, the daughter of the late actress Choi Jin-sil.
On the 16th, Hong Jin-kyung took to her social media to clarify, "Permission for marriage? What right do I have? I only wish for her happiness. Congratulations on your marriage, Jun-hee." This statement comes in response to recent reports suggesting that Hong Jin-kyung had given her blessing for the marriage.
Previously, Choi Jun-hee shared a photo on social media featuring her fiancé, her brother Choi Hwan-hee, and Hong Jin-kyung dining together, captioning it, "Got approval from aunt for our partners. Treat's on us, nieces and nephews." This post led to speculation and misinterpretation regarding the 'marriage approval.'
Hong Jin-kyung and the late Choi Jin-sil were known to have shared a close friendship in the entertainment industry. Their bond extended beyond professional ties, and even after Choi Jin-sil's passing, Hong Jin-kyung has remained close to her children, acting as a supportive aunt.
Meanwhile, Choi Jun-hee is set to marry her non-celebrity fiancé, who is 11 years her senior, on May 16th at a hotel in Gangnam, Seoul. The couple has been together for approximately five years. Choi Jun-hee, born to the late Choi Jin-sil and the late Cho Sung-min, is currently active as an influencer.
