On the 11th, an interview with Sandeul was conducted at the D-Cube Link Art Center in Sillim-dong, Seoul, where he is meeting audiences through the musical 'Death Note' (produced by Shin Chun-soo).
Sandeul has been cast in the role of 'L' in 'Death Note'. He recalled, "I joined the production through an audition, but at that time, my self-esteem was quite low, and I was worried, 'Can I really do this?'"
Sandeul attributed his low self-esteem to repeated rejections. He said, "I auditioned for many other productions, but things didn't go well. Since I didn't have much audition experience, I kept getting rejected." He continued, "Just when I was starting to realize what I was lacking, I auditioned for 'Death Note'. While I was working on improving those areas, the opportunity came, and I think I was able to show a better side of myself to the people involved."
Sandeul first encountered 'Death Note' as an anime during his school days. He was struck by its freshness, saying, "I was shocked by the concept of writing a name in a notebook and causing a person's death." He added, "I actually love watching anime alone at home, so it feels like I've become a successful fan, and every performance is enjoyable."
Meanwhile, 'Death Note' is based on the anime of the same name created by Horipro in 2015. The story revolves around Light, who discovers a Death Note and seeks to eradicate evil and bring justice, and the brilliant detective L who pursues him. The performances will run until May 10.
