Comedian Choi Yang-rak Reveals His Hanok Cafe Was a Haven for Secret Affairs
Comedian Choi Yang-rak recently shared a surprising revelation about a hanok-style cafe he once operated with his wife, Paeng Hyun-sook, claiming it became a hotspot for secret affairs.

On October 11, the YouTube channel 'Yangrak 1st Street' featured guests Cho Kwan-woo and Kim Sung-soo, who joined Choi Yang-rak and Paeng Hyun-sook for a candid conversation.

Choi Yang-rak recounted how he built a hanok and ran a cafe, where he played Cho Kwan-woo's songs 'Flower Garden' and 'Swamp' all day. He then made an unexpected confession, saying, "It turns out our cafe was a sanctuary for secret lovers. They were crazy about Cho Kwan-woo's music," which elicited laughter from everyone present.

He continued, "Normal couples would greet us at the entrance, saying, 'Oh, it's Choi Yang-rak and Paeng Hyun-sook!' But the secret couples would never acknowledge us and would just sit in a corner by themselves."

Choi Yang-rak even mentioned how he accommodated these secretive patrons, saying, "There were no curtains, but since so many secret couples frequented the cafe, we placed plants between tables to provide some privacy," which drew more laughter.

He added, "One bold couple even asked Paeng Hyun-sook why there were so many plants. She replied, 'Because we have a lot of secret affairs here,' which made the couple blush with embarrassment."

Choi Yang-rak and Paeng Hyun-sook previously operated this hanok cafe in the Yangsuri area of Gyeonggi Province.
