In the ENA Monday-Tuesday drama 'Honor: Their Courtrooms' (hereafter referred to as 'Honor'), Lee Chung-ah plays Hwang Hyun-jin, a fearless lawyer who stands firm against the threats of the giant cartel Connectin. Her actions drive the story forward, making her a central figure in the narrative and showcasing her presence in every episode.
Lee Chung-ah's vibrant transformation, stepping away from her previously familiar calm and intellectual image, is drawing attention. She stated, "I was looking for a story that was softer and more relatable to everyday life than works with a strong genre color." She added, "Although 'Honor' has a strong genre color, the character has a different charm compared to the roles I've recently played."
Above all, Lee Chung-ah leaves a strong impression by portraying a character with raw energy and unfiltered emotions in 'Honor.' She described Hwang Hyun-jin as embodying boldness and a passionate heart, traits that are the opposite of her own tendency to hide and keep things to herself. "I tried to think like Hyun-jin," she said. "I aimed to maintain cheerfulness and confidence in any situation and made an effort to observe my surroundings with interest."
Lee Chung-ah also shared some similarities with her character Hwang Hyun-jin. She revealed that her friends often describe her true identity as that of a third-grade boy, indicating her boyish side, which she says is "mixed into Hyun-jin's character."
Through 'Honor,' Lee Chung-ah is showcasing her limitless range. She teased, "From episode 5, the secrets and human struggles of the three main characters, Yoon Ra-young (played by Lee Na-young), Kang Shin-jae (played by Jung Eun-chae), and Hwang Hyun-jin, will be revealed. It will be a time when their emotions become intricately intertwined."
'Honor' airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 PM.
