Kang Daniel, a former member of the popular K-pop group Wanna One, is set to fulfill his mandatory military service.
Kang will enlist on the 9th and, after completing basic military training, will serve as an active-duty soldier in the South Korean Army.
No special events will be held on the day of his enlistment. His agency, A, has requested fans to refrain from visiting the site to ensure safety, as it will be a place shared with many soldiers and their families.
Kang Daniel rose to fame in 2017 after winning first place on Mnet's audition program 'Produce 101 Season 2' and debuted with Wanna One in August of the same year. Following the group's disbandment, he has pursued a successful solo career.
Meanwhile, Wanna One is set to reunite for the first time in seven years with Mnet's new reality program 'Wanna One Go' this year. Ahead of the show's release, Mnet has shared handwritten messages from the members. Kang Daniel expressed, "I'm happy to bring good news after a long time. I'm excited to call out the name Wannable (the fandom name) again. Let's bring back memories and return to those days. Please find me a lot in Wanna One Go."
