On the recent episode of TV Chosun's 'Baekban Journey with Heo Young-man', actress Hwang Shin-hye embarked on a culinary tour of Anyang.
During the show, Hwang Shin-hye proudly spoke about her brother, Hwang Jung-eon, who is a 'mouth and foot painter'. She shared, "My brother was in a car accident at the age of 29, which injured his neck. He has no sensation below the neck, so he paints with his mouth."
Heo Young-man expressed concern, asking if it was difficult for her to talk about her brother. Hwang Shin-hye responded, "He is an amazing and truly proud brother. It's not hard anymore, and I am proud to share his story." She even showcased some of his artwork, to which Heo Young-man remarked, "He is a skilled artist. It makes me question what I've been drawing."
Hwang Shin-hye also spoke fondly of her brother's wife, saying, "He met his current wife after the accident, and they got married. I've learned a lot from her and often reflect on myself. Thanks to her, he can continue painting. It's like an angel came into our family. I've rarely met someone like her in my life. I often ask, 'Where are your wings?'" Despite her admiration, she declined to send a video message, admitting, "I might cry."
Hwang Shin-hye shared a personal tidbit, "When I go to a barbecue restaurant, I prefer to grill the meat myself. People around me find it uncomfortable, but I have a specific way I like to cut it."
In her personal life, Hwang Shin-hye first married the son of a fashion company CEO in 1987, but they divorced after nine months. She remarried a businessman three years her junior in 1998 and had a daughter, Lee Jin-yi, but divorced again in 2005. As a 'twice-divorced single', she stated, "I have no plans for a third marriage."
