WOODZ Teams Up with Idol Kim Kwang-jin for a Special Performance on 'Immortal Songs'
WOODZ is set to deliver a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration with his idol, singer Kim Kwang-jin, on the second part of 'Immortal Songs - 2026 Oh My Star Special'. Known for his unique performances, WOODZ will unveil a special skill prepared exclusively for the show. Previously, WOODZ participated in Mnet's 'Produce X 101' in 2019 and was selected for the group X1, which disbanded due to a controversy. He later signed with EDAM Entertainment, home to IU, in 2022.

KBS2's 'Immortal Songs' is a premier music entertainment program with over 700 episodes. The 743rd episode, airing today (7th), is the second part of the '2026 Oh My Star Special'. This special series, which began in 2021, features spectacular performances by senior and junior artists in the music industry, captivating viewers.

The first part featured stunning duets by Aiki X Leehay, Park Jin-joo X Min Kyung-ah, Lim Han-byul X HYNN (Park Hye-won), Jung Seung-hwan X Jongho (ATEEZ), and Lyn X Jo Jae-joo, proving the worth of the 'Oh My Star' special. WOODZ, who previously performed 'Drowning' during his military service on the 'Immortal Songs - 2024 Armed Forces Day Special', expressed his gratitude towards the show. The performance has surpassed 26.6 million views, dominating music charts and establishing WOODZ as a rising icon. Returning to the historic stage, WOODZ shared, "I have been waiting to repay the kindness of 'Immortal Songs'." When MC Shin Dong-yup requested a snippet of 'Drowning', WOODZ humorously responded, "I came prepared with a short haircut," and recreated the iconic performance, receiving enthusiastic applause.

Kim Kwang-jin praised WOODZ, saying, "WOODZ is like a cheat character in a game, comparable to a baseball player hitting 50 home runs and stealing 50 bases. I believe he is an artist poised for global success." The collaboration between the legendary singer-songwriter Kim Kwang-jin and WOODZ is highly anticipated.

The competitors' respect for the duo and the rave reviews following their performance are noteworthy. Jung Seung-hwan expressed his admiration, saying, "Kim Kwang-jin is a huge star to me as well." Seomoon Tak, overwhelmed by the performance, stood up immediately after it ended, exclaiming, "This is Kim Kwang-jin. With WOODZ's refreshing shouts added, it was incredible."
