In an interview with the production team, Ham So-won's mother shared her complex feelings, saying, "As long as they don't fight, I am okay with my daughter supporting them. I can't bear to watch them if they continue like this." However, she revealed her opposition to their reconciliation, stating, "It seems like there's never a day without fighting."

She particularly mentioned her 8-year-old granddaughter, Hyejeong, saying, "When I asked her if she felt bad because her mom and dad were fighting, she said, 'Yes, I'm stressed.' Her hands were red." Ham So-won's mother added, "Then I hold her and cry. I keep wondering if she can grow up normally under such stress. These thoughts keep breaking my heart."

Meanwhile, Ham So-won married Jin Hua, a Chinese national 18 years her junior, in 2017 and gave birth to their daughter, Hyejeong. However, after their divorce in 2022, she is currently raising her daughter in Korea.
