The nominees for the 23rd Korean Music Awards have been revealed. Jennie and Lee Chan-hyuk have each been nominated in five categories, including Musician of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year. NMIXX has been nominated in four categories.
The Korean Music Awards Selection Committee announced the nominees on February 5th via the Korean Music Awards YouTube channel.
In the Album of the Year category, the nominees are Kwon Na-mu's 'Scent of Life', EPI's 'pullup to busan 4 morE hypEr summEr it's gonna bE a fuckin moviE', Woo Hee-jun's 'The Pumping of the Heart is Torture', Lee Chan-hyuk's 'EROS', Jennie's 'Ruby', and Chudahye Chagis' 'Minority'.
For Song of the Year, the nominees include Lee Chan-hyuk's 'Extinction Love', Jennie's 'like JENNIE', Woo Hee-jun's 'Spacious House', NMIXX's 'Blue Valentine', and Chudahye Chagis' 'Heosseh'.
Nominees for Musician of the Year are Hanloro, Lee Chan-hyuk, Jennie, EPI, and NMIXX. In the Rookie of the Year category, Woo Hee-jun, All Day Project, Peach Truck Hijackers, Park, and Lacunarama have been nominated.
In the Best Pop Album category, the nominees are Lee Chan-hyuk's 'EROS', Lim Hyun-jung's 'Extraordinary', Joo Hye-rin's 'stereo', Song So-hee's 'Re:5', and Baek Ye-rin's 'Flash and Core'.
For Best Pop Song, the nominees are Baek Ye-rin's 'MIRROR', Lee Chan-hyuk's 'Extinction Love', Lim Hyun-jung's 'The Road to Me is Beautiful', Jo Wol's 'Using Your Love as a Pretext (feat. Haepa)', and Hwasa's 'Good Goodbye'.
In the Best K-pop Album category, the nominees include Jennie's 'Ruby', NMIXX's 'Blue Valentine', NMIXX's 'Fe3O4: FORWARD', Chaeyoung's 'LIL FANTASY vol.1', and Mark's 'The Firstfruit - The 1st Album'.
For Best K-pop Song, the nominees are LE SSERAFIM's 'SPAGHETTI (feat. j-hope of BTS)', All Day Project's 'FAMOUS', NMIXX's 'Blue Valentine', Jennie's 'like JENNIE', and HATSUHATSU's 'FOCUS'.
The Korean Music Awards, organized by the Korean Music Awards Selection Committee, is a prestigious music award in South Korea that honors artists based solely on musicality, as determined by critics and musicians. The 23rd Korean Music Awards ceremony will take place on the 27th.
