Former EXO member Tao has ventured into the sanitary pad business in China, sharing updates on his new endeavor.
On October 5th, the YouTube channel 'Gongbu Wang Jinjinjae Hong Jinkyung' released a video titled 'Hong Jinkyung Goes to China to Find a Wanghong with Daily Sales of 30 Billion Won.'
In the video, Hong Jinkyung met with Tao, who shared his current status. Speaking in Korean, Tao said, "I am married and living well." He revealed that he is currently running a sanitary pad business in China. Tao explained his motivation for starting the business, saying, "I wanted women to use sanitary pads more safely and without worry."
Tao expressed confidence in his business choice, stating, "I am not at all embarrassed about being in the sanitary pad business. I believe it was the right choice and a very good thing." He added, "I felt that if we outsourced production, consumers might not trust us. So, we made the factory transparent, allowing anyone to easily verify the production process."
Tao revealed that he has sold approximately 150 million units, generating sales of about 150 million yuan (approximately 31.5 billion won). He noted, "We currently have six production lines in the factory, with each line costing around 20 million yuan (approximately 3.7 billion won). We have yet to break even."
Tao debuted as a member of EXO in 2012 but left the group in 2015 to pursue entertainment activities and business ventures in China. Last year, he married singer and actress Xu Yiyang, a former SM Rookies member.
