Set to premiere on the 15th, MBC's new variety show 'The Best' brings together winners from various music auditions to compete for the title of the best among the best. Known for her love of singing and audition shows, Lee Min-jung takes on her first role as a music show host.
The first recording of 'The Best' recently took place, featuring Lee Min-jung and Boom as hosts, with Baek Ji-young, Heo Sung-tae, Kim Yong-jun (SG Wannabe), Park Ji-hyun, and Kim Chae-won (LE SSERAFIM) as panelists. While the lineup of winning singers remains a mystery, a teaser captured Lee Min-jung shedding tears during the show.
Regarding the experience, Lee Min-jung expressed, "I approached it with the thought of enjoying a musical feast. With top singers showcasing their talents, I was happy throughout the recording." She added, "Unlike other audition programs where elimination is key, 'The Best' focuses on the emotional impact of each performance. One singer might dominate the stage, while another moves the audience to tears."
Lee Min-jung also revealed why she chose to host 'The Best', marking her first venture into music variety shows. "I genuinely love audition programs and listening to music. I believe music has the power to heal, which is why I eagerly accepted the role," she explained. "Though it's a new genre for me and a bit nerve-wracking, I will do my best to let the singers shine on stage."
'The Best' will air its first episode on the 15th at 8:50 PM.
