'The Man Who Lives with the King' Tops Box Office on Opening Day

The film 'The Man Who Lives with the King', starring Yoo Hae-jin and Park Ji-hoon and directed by Jang Hang-jun, has claimed the top spot at the box office on its opening day.

Set in 1457 Cheongnyeongpo, 'The Man Who Lives with the King' tells the story of a village chief who voluntarily exiles himself for the prosperity of his village and a young dethroned king who is also in exile.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network on the 5th, the movie attracted 117,792 viewers on its first day, with a cumulative audience of 147,547, securing the number one spot at the box office. It maintained the top spot in pre-release ticket sales and continued its success by reaching the top of the box office upon release, signaling a promising start.

Audience reviews highlight "Yoo Hae-jin's exceptional class and unique acting skills, along with flawless performances from all actors," and describe the film as "a new take on the story of Danjong, hilariously funny yet moving to the point of tears."

'The Man Who Lives with the King' is currently showing in theaters.
