Ham So-won shares her experience of living with her ex-husband Jin-hwa, her mother, and daughter after their divorce.
In a preview of MBN's 'Dongchimi', released on the 4th, Ham So-won revealed the story of living under one roof for a year with her ex-husband Jin-hwa, her mother, and daughter after their divorce.
In the video, Ham So-won visits psychiatrist Lee Kwang-min. She explained, "We finalized our divorce in December 2022, and when I went to Vietnam in 2023, Jin-hwa came to Vietnam, and we all lived together. My mother, Jin-hwa, my daughter Hye-jung, and I lived together," she said, describing their living arrangement.
Ham So-won continued, "After completing the divorce process, I went to Vietnam. But Jin-hwa asked, 'Where am I supposed to live?' which led to us living together in Vietnam. Living together post-divorce was challenging. When my mother visited us before, we didn't fight. But living together in Vietnam, I didn't know how to handle it when my mother saw us fighting. We lived like that for almost a year," she recalled.
Ham So-won added, "From my mother's perspective, she might have thought, 'What is he doing, lying around all day after the divorce?' Young people often lie down and use their phones," she said.
In response, Lee Kwang-min empathized with Ham So-won's mother, saying, "If Jin-hwa was in a good state, taking care of himself, working, and fulfilling social roles, she might think, 'I should support him a bit.' But that's not the case, and with the divorce finalized and no future in sight, it's understandable why she would be upset having someone unrelated living in her house."
Ham So-won shared, "My mother told me a story that left her speechless. Jin-hwa called my mother into the room and asked her to close the door for him. My siblings and I always listened to our mother because our father had financial troubles. But Jin-hwa acts like a child because he grew up in an environment where everything was done for him. His behavior might remind my mother of my father," she confessed.
