On November 2, Koo Jun-yup took to his social media to express his longing for Barbie Hsu. In his letter, he wrote, "How are you there? I always worry if you're cold or hot. When I sit blankly in a corner of the bed, I hope it's a dream, and my heart aches."
He continued, "When I drive to Jinbaoshan with food, tears flow endlessly from missing you. But this is the last way to soothe my longing for you, so I hope you understand. Hsu, let's be together forever when we meet again. I miss you. I miss you so much. I miss you to death."
On the same day, a memorial statue unveiling ceremony was held at Jinbaoshan Memorial Park in New Taipei City, Taiwan, to honor Barbie Hsu. The statue was conceptualized and participated in by Koo Jun-yup himself. Attendees included Koo Jun-yup, Hsu's sister Dee Hsu, family members, and friends like Kang Won-rae of Clon and singer Choi Si-won, who gathered to pay tribute to the late actress.
Barbie Hsu passed away in February last year during a trip to Japan due to pneumonia accompanied by the flu. She was 48 years old. Koo Jun-yup and Barbie Hsu dated for about a year in 1998 before parting ways. After Hsu's divorce from her ex-husband in 2021, the couple reunited after more than 20 years and announced their marriage in 2022.
