Seo Jang-hoon (51) offers firm advice to Kang Jin (70) regarding his rigorous health management.
On the 350th episode of KBS Joy's variety show 'Ask Us Anything', airing at 8:30 PM on the 2nd, Kang Jin, known for the hit song 'Ttangbeol', shares his concerns about his excessively strict health regimen.
Kang Jin explains his dietary habits in detail, avoiding alcohol, cigarettes, fried foods, instant meals, and carbonated drinks. He reveals that he eats ramen only once or twice a year, and when he does, he rinses the noodles, uses only a third of the seasoning, and leaves the broth. This astonishes the hosts. He also dilutes salty foods with water and cuts off any charred parts of meat.
Kang Jin shares a shocking anecdote about holding his breath when passing smokers on the street and setting up acrylic partitions at home during the COVID-19 pandemic to eat meals sequentially.
Kang Jin's obsession with health management stems from his past. During his peak with 'Ttangbeol', he recalls being too busy to eat or rest properly, admitting, "Looking back, there were many dangerous moments, and I think I neglected my health." He started his regimen to continue performing on stage for his fans but now worries that his strictness might distance him from those around him.
Seo Jang-hoon comments, "You're exercising and getting regular health check-ups, aren't you? Worrying too much can actually cause stress." Lee Soo-geun adds humorously, "You need to eat well to have energy on stage. You look tired when you say, 'I'm tired now.'"
Kang Jin's performances of 'Makgeolli Han Jan' and 'Ttangbeol', which received standing ovations, will be featured on the episode of 'Ask Us Anything'.
