On October 30, Park Ji-yoon shared a video on her Instagram, captioned, "When you travel, your skin is exposed to unfamiliar air and humidity all day, so you need to take care of it, right?" The video features Park promoting a skincare product from a well-known brand, actively engaging in what is known as 'group buying.'
On the same day, Choi Dong-seok posted an hour earlier than Park, sharing a post on his Instagram story without any caption, introducing a chicken soup dish and providing a 'order now' link.
Group buying, a method where items are purchased collectively rather than individually, offers benefits for both consumers and sellers by providing lower prices and higher sales volumes, respectively. Many celebrities, including Park Ji-yoon, Hyun Young, former After School member Jung Ah, announcer Lee Ha-jung, model Byun Jung-soo, and actress Yang Mi-ra, are involved in this business.
Earlier, on the 27th, the Jeju District Court dismissed the lawsuits filed by Park Ji-yoon against Choi Dong-seok's acquaintance, identified as A, and by Choi against Park's acquaintance, identified as B. The court found it difficult to acknowledge any extramarital relationships or hold anyone liable for damages based on the claims and evidence presented.
The legal battle began in July 2024 when Park filed a lawsuit against A for damages related to an alleged affair. In September of the same year, Choi filed a similar lawsuit against B, leading to mutual lawsuits. The court combined the cases, and both parties denied the affair allegations.
Neither party has appealed the dismissal of the lawsuits. However, disagreements over asset division and the reasons for the marriage breakdown remain, leaving the outcome of the impending divorce proceedings uncertain.
Choi and Park, both former KBS announcers, married in 2009 and have a son and a daughter. After 14 years of marriage, they separated in October 2023 and are currently undergoing divorce proceedings. They have filed for divorce mediation at the Jeju District Court, with the divorce trial set to resume in April.
Park Ji-yoon has secured custody and parental rights of their children, while Choi Dong-seok has visitation rights, allowing him to meet his children two days a week.
