Chef Ahn Sung-jae Highlights the Global Potential of Korean Seaweed on Netflix's 'K-GIM Revolution'
Chef Ahn Sung-jae, featured on Netflix's 'Chef in Black and White,' sheds light on the present and future of Korea's representative ingredient, seaweed. Previously, controversy arose when it was revealed that Chef Lim Sung-geun, who appeared alongside Ahn in 'Chef in Black and White 2,' had a criminal record with six offenses, including DUI and assault.

On the MBC broadcast of 'K-GIM Revolution' on the 28th, Ahn took on the role of a global presenter to convey the value and competitiveness of Korea's iconic ingredient, seaweed. Ahn explored how seaweed is consumed and perceived in the U.S. and visited Wando, Korea's largest seaweed production site.

Ahn also examined the potential of seaweed through fine dining dishes and various culinary interpretations. He demonstrated how seaweed, once considered a familiar ingredient, can be reimagined in the realm of gastronomy, establishing itself as part of the global culinary trend. Additionally, Ahn observed and learned about the entire process of seaweed farming, processing, and distribution in Wando, presenting seaweed as 'an industry and culture' beyond just a side dish or ingredient.

Meanwhile, 'K-GIM Revolution,' featuring Ahn, is also available on the OTT platform Wavve and will be released in 32 Asian countries, including Taiwan, Thailand, and Hong Kong, via 'Lifetime Asia' on March 27 at 7:30 PM (Singapore Time).
