Park Shin-hye recently opened up about her decision to take a hiatus from her acting career.
On the October 21st episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block,' actress Park Shin-hye made a guest appearance.
Park Shin-hye shared that she paused her entertainment activities when she turned 20 to focus on her college life. She explained, "When I entered university, I was really curious about college life. Since I was in the theater department, I was surrounded by friends who were passionate about acting. I wanted to know what strengths my peers had that I didn't, so I decided to take a year off from acting to attend school."
MC Yoo Jae-suk humorously pointed out, "In other words, you wanted to have fun. You dressed it up in various ways, but you just wanted to take a break." Park Shin-hye laughed and admitted, "That's right." She added, "Our theater department was located in Daehak-ro, Hyehwa-dong, a place overflowing with charm. I even stayed out all night there," she said with a smile.
Yoo Jae-suk clarified, "When you say you 'ran wild' back then, it doesn't mean running as in exercise." Park Shin-hye explained, "My family was conservative, so I had never stayed out overnight. I was curious about what it felt like to sleep over at a friend's house. I even tried staying out without permission. If there was a department gathering, I would tell my mom I'd be home by 3 or 4 AM. She would say, 'It's dangerous to come home at that time, so come back after sunrise.' I also went to karaoke with friends. Back then, it was all new experiences," she recalled. "It was a time when I did everything I wanted to do," she reflected.
Park Shin-hye debuted in 2003 through Lee Seung-hwan's music video and has appeared in numerous dramas such as 'Stairway to Heaven,' 'You're Beautiful,' 'The Heirs,' 'Doctors,' 'The Judge from Hell,' and films like '#Alive' and 'Call.' She is currently starring in the ongoing series 'Miss Hong the Undercover.'
Park Shin-hye married actor Choi Tae-joon in 2022 and welcomed a son the same year, building a family together.
