Park Shin-hye Opens Up About Her Father's Health and Childhood Struggles on 'You Quiz on the Block'

Actress Park Shin-hye shed tears as she recalled her father's health issues and her childhood struggles.

On the October 21st episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' (hereafter 'You Quiz'), Park Shin-hye candidly shared the financial hardships her family faced before her debut in the entertainment industry.

During the broadcast, Park Shin-hye revealed, "My father was recently diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. They also found a condition near his heart," she said, tearing up. "My father was like Superman to me. Now I realize, 'He's not the Superman I knew.' It's scary because you never know when it might happen."

Park Shin-hye continued, "These days, I feel like I'm getting older because I find myself attending more funerals. I realize that the time with my parents might not be as long as I thought. It makes me appreciate the importance of family even more."

She also opened up about the financial struggles her entire family faced during her childhood. Park Shin-hye recalled, "When we moved to Seoul, we lived in a semi-basement apartment. I remember the toilet was slightly elevated, not on the same level."

She shared the sacrifices her parents made to support her acting career. Park Shin-hye added, "My father drove a taxi, and my mother worked various jobs, including insurance and cleaning school cafeterias. Yet, my mom was never ashamed of it."
