Actress Lee Min-jung has been learning English from Lee Byung-hun's cousin.
On the 20th, the YouTube channel 'Lee Min-jung MJ' released a video titled 'Lee Min-jung's English Lesson with BH's Cousin, Leaving Only a Bright Smile'.
In the video, Lee Min-jung introduced her English teacher, actor and producer Sean Richard, saying, "He's family. He's my husband's cousin and practically Lee Byung-hun's English teacher."
When Lee Min-jung mentioned that many people are curious about Lee Byung-hun's English skills, Richard shared, "I helped him a lot with his speeches at the Academy Awards and other events. It was a bit challenging when he lectured at Stanford."
Recalling that Richard also assisted with English consultations during Lee Byung-hun's Hollywood debut film 'G.I. Joe', Lee Min-jung expressed affection, saying, "That was 17 years ago. My husband's face was so cute. It's not about his English pronunciation, but his adorable looks."
Lee Min-jung explained her reason for having an English teacher, saying, "My son, Lee Jun-hoo, criticized my English skills. After spending money to teach him, he said, 'I can't understand this pronunciation.' It was a bit frustrating."
Having double-majored in English literature, she lamented, "I feel like I've forgotten all my English," but added, "While I can't improve my English skills overnight, learning about the culture is beneficial."
Richard introduced new slang used by the MZ, Gen Z, and Alpha generations. Among them was '6 7' (six seven), which has no particular meaning but is popular among the Alpha generation. Lee Min-jung enthusiastically said, "I'll try using it with Jun-hoo."
When Lee Min-jung shouted "six seven!" at home, Jun-hoo was surprised and said, "Where did you learn that? It's popular at school. Even in countries without smartphones, people know it," bringing laughter.
Meanwhile, Lee Byung-hun and Lee Min-jung's son, Lee Jun-hoo, is reportedly attending Seoul Academy International School (SAIS) located in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
