Chef Choi Kang-rok Reveals Near Exit from 'Black and White Chef 2'
Choi Kang-rok shared his story of almost leaving 'Black and White Chef 2' midway.

On the 16th, an interview was conducted with Choi Kang-rok, the winner of Netflix's 'Black and White Chef 2', at a cafe located in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Meeting the press for the first time in 13 years, he appeared visibly nervous.

Choi Kang-rok, who was eliminated in Season 1, returned this season as the 'Hidden Silver Spoon' and rose to become the last standing contestant. In the finals, he clinched victory with a broth dish featuring tofu and soju.

Notably, Choi was the first contestant to advance to the finals. He secured his spot by earning the highest score in the first semifinal mission, 'Infinite Cooking Paradise'.

On this day, PD Kim Hak-min commented, "Rather than giving Chef Choi Kang-rok an opportunity, we were in a position to ask him for a favor. It must have been a tough decision for him. As always, we didn't disclose the rules. He didn't even know he was the 'Hidden Silver Spoon'. Moreover, he had to get approval from both judges (Ahn Sung-jae, Baek Jong-won) simultaneously. Yet, we couldn't tell him."

In response, Choi Kang-rok humorously remarked, "The thought of needing approval from two people was terrifying, and I wanted to back out. Then I saw the cooking station rising from below. It seemed like a lot of money was spent on the production, so I didn't back out."
