Chef Choi Kang-rok Reflects on Winning 'Black and White Chef 2' and the Challenges of 'Carrot Hell'
What if Chef Choi Kang-rok had faced the 'Carrot Hell' challenge?

On the 16th, an interview was conducted with Choi Kang-rok, the winner of Netflix's 'Black and White Chef 2', at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Meeting the press for the first time in 13 years, he appeared visibly nervous.

Choi Kang-rok, who was eliminated in Season 1, made a comeback this season and rose to the top spot. In the finals, he clinched victory with a broth dish featuring sesame tofu and soju.

Notably, Choi was the first contestant to advance to the finals. He secured his spot by earning the highest score in the first semi-final mission, 'Infinite Cooking Paradise'. The remaining six chefs, excluding Choi, had to participate in the 'Infinite Cooking Hell' carrot version.

On this day, Choi remarked, "If I had participated in the 'Carrot Hell', I might have been eliminated. I can't even guarantee I would have made a stew," adding, "It seems like a tough mission. I was disappointed not to face the 'Tofu Hell' in Season 1, so I was determined to do it this time, but I missed it again. Still, I'm relieved."

He continued, "I don't think I won because I'm a great cook. Everyone who participated had the potential to win," showing humility. He also praised the runner-up, known as the 'Cooking Monster', as "someone who cooks with amazing skills."
