Rom-Com Queen Kim Hye-yoon Makes a Strong Start… Ratings Peak at 4.6% with Bold Transformation as an ‘MZ Gumiho’ (No Tail to Tell)
'No Tail to Tell' has opened the curtain on a captivating fantasy romance.

SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'No Tail to Tell' (directed by Kim Jung-kwon, written by Park Chan-young & Jo Ah-young) premiered on the 16th after much anticipation. The show introduces 'MZ Gumiho' Eun-ho (played by Kim Hye-yoon), who doesn't want to become human, and ordinary human Kang Si-yeol (played by Lomon), who immediately enter a 'dislike relationship' mode upon their first meeting. The plot hints at their entanglement with another human, Hyun Woo-seok (played by Jang Dong-joo), capturing viewers' attention. The first episode achieved a peak rating of 4.6% and a 2049 demographic rating of 1.24%, according to Nielsen Korea.

The episode depicted the life of 'MZ Gumiho' Eun-ho, who enjoys the human world as her own. Unlike other gumiho, Eun-ho doesn't wish to become human and uses her centuries-old powers to grant wishes for a price. Her sole principle is 'avoid small good deeds and only avoid major evil deeds,' a personal effort to remain non-human. In contrast, Kang Si-yeol's life revolves around soccer training and part-time jobs. Unlike the youth national team star and top prospect Hyun Woo-seok, the 'poor genius' Kang Si-yeol has only dreams and passion.

Their meeting was a simple coincidence. Eun-ho observed the backs of Kang Si-yeol and Hyun Woo-seok, confident in one of their successful futures. Her prophecy, "You seem like you'll become quite famous," was directed at Hyun Woo-seok. That night, a chance encounter repeated itself. Returning after hearing a warning from Park Gun (played by Joo Jin-mo) about becoming human, Eun-ho was hit by a ball that came over a wall. Filled with annoyance, Eun-ho told Kang Si-yeol, who came to retrieve the ball, "You'll just be 'Human 1,'" predicting his lack of success.

At that moment, an unexpected car accident occurred nearby. Following a disturbing noise, Kang Si-yeol found Hyun Woo-seok, who had been with him moments before, struck by a car. The driver, presumed to be the perpetrator, was seen fleeing the scene. Hyun Woo-seok was rushed to the emergency room unconscious, and Kang Si-yeol gave a witness statement at the police station. A man came forward to confess, but Kang Si-yeol clearly remembered the real perpetrator's face.

The true culprit was Lee Yoon (played by Choi Seung-yoon), the heir to the Geumsu Group and a VIP client of Eun-ho, known for choosing evil deeds and solving problems with money. When his plan to frame his driver failed due to Kang Si-yeol, Lee Yoon summoned Eun-ho by burning her business card. Eun-ho, offered double the money by Lee Yoon, sought out Kang Si-yeol to erase his memories of the previous night using her powers. However, she suddenly saw Kang Si-yeol's successful future and collapsed into his arms, foreshadowing an unpredictable storyline.

'No Tail to Tell' delivered entertainment worth the wait from its first episode. The unique setting of an 'MZ Gumiho' who doesn't want to become human, combined with imaginative and witty storytelling, received praise. Kim Hye-yoon's return as the 'rom-com fairy' was flawless, embodying the character of Eun-ho with her distinct charm and appeal. Lomon, as Kang Si-yeol, evoked empathy with his portrayal of a realistic youth, while his chemistry with Kim Hye-yoon sparked excitement. The unfolding fantasy romance of Eun-ho and Kang Si-yeol, bound by fate, raises anticipation for what's to come.

The second episode of SBS's 'No Tail to Tell' airs on the 17th at 9:50 PM.
