The musical 'Romeo and Juliet' is based on the famous play by Shakespeare. It premiered in France in 2001 and was first performed in South Korea in 2007.
Lee Jae-jin will take on the role of 'Mercutio', Romeo's closest friend. Mercutio is known for his free-spirited and provocative nature. His death at the hands of Juliet's cousin Tybalt sets off the tragic events of the story.
Lee Jae-jin is the bassist for FTISLAND and has been active in music, musicals, and television dramas. He debuted in musicals with 'Sonagi' in 2009 and has since built a diverse portfolio with performances in 'High School Musical', 'I Loved You', 'Return', 'Vampire Arthur', 'Harlan County', and 'Your Lie in April'.
In this production, Lee Jae-jin is expected to enhance the drama with his unique vocal and acting skills.
'Romeo and Juliet', featuring Lee Jae-jin, will run from March 24 to May 31 at the KEPCO Art Center in Seoul. Meanwhile, fellow FTISLAND member Lee Hong-gi is performing in the musical 'Sugar' until February 22.
