Zo In-sung Shares Behind-the-Scenes Action Stories from 'Humint'

Zo In-sung shared behind-the-scenes stories from the action scenes of 'Humint'. At 45, Zo In-sung humorously transformed into a 'boy group' member during the production briefing, causing laughter among attendees.

On the 12th, a production briefing for the film 'Humint' (directed by Ryoo Seung-wan) was held at Lotte Cinema Konkuk University in Jayang-dong, Seoul. Director Ryoo Seung-wan, along with actors Zo In-sung, Park Jeong-min, Park Hae-jun, and Shin Sae-kyeong, were in attendance.

'Humint' is a story set in Vladivostok, where secrets and truths are submerged in the icy sea, and individuals with different objectives clash. It is the latest work from director Ryoo Seung-wan, known for the 'Veteran' series and 'Escape from Mogadishu'. The title 'Humint' refers to intelligence activities conducted through human sources.

Zo In-sung plays the role of Zo, an agent of the National Intelligence Service of South Korea. Park Jeong-min portrays Park Geon, a team leader from North Korea's State Security Department. Park Hae-jun takes on the role of Hwang Chi-seong, the North Korean Consul General in Vladivostok. Shin Sae-kyeong appears as Chae Sun-hwa, a North Korean restaurant worker who is approached by Zo to become an informant.

This marks Zo In-sung's third collaboration with director Ryoo Seung-wan, following 'Escape from Mogadishu' and 'Smugglers'. Director Ryoo named the character 'Zo' after Zo In-sung.

When asked if he feels like family with the director, Zo In-sung replied, "I haven't confirmed how the director and the production company feel about it. There are many who have worked with the director more than I have. I haven't surpassed them yet, so I'll strive to become the director's persona," he said with a smile. Director Ryoo responded, "Thank you for thinking that way. However, there's still a waiting list, so please be patient," he joked. Zo In-sung added, "These aren't ordinary projects; they were filmed during extended stays overseas, which created a unique bond among us. We became closer during the process, and I was able to understand the director's vision better."

Regarding the action scenes, Zo In-sung stated, "The director knows action well. He captures details like angles, the feeling when extending a hand, and the sensation of being hit. It's a film where you can't get an 'okay' without giving it your all." He continued, "The Latvian team was probably surprised. Our director personally demonstrates the action sequences, which amazed them. So, we couldn't hold back either." About Zo's action scenes, he humbly said, "I tried to make them look dignified, but it wasn't easy. I would buy action skills if they were for sale. They weren't very dignified."

Shin Sae-kyeong described the action keywords for each character: "Zo's action is refreshing, Park Geon's is fiery, and Hwang Chi-seong's is passionate." The three actors humorously introduced themselves as a boy group: "Refreshing In-sung, Fiery Jeong-min, Passionate Hae-jun," causing laughter.

During the briefing, Park Hae-jun mistakenly referred to himself as "Desire Hae-jun," prompting Zo In-sung to explain, "It's because we just formed," which elicited more laughter.

'Humint' is set to be released on February 11.
