Disney+ Unveils 'Made In Korea': A Tale of Power and Pursuit

Disney+ has premiered its original series 'Made In Korea' today, unveiling a duo poster and preview stills from episodes 1 and 2. The contrasting energies of the two protagonists are palpable.

Directed by Woo Min-ho, 'Made In Korea' is set in the 1970s, a time of chaos and growth in South Korea. The story follows Baek Ki-tae (played by Hyun Bin), a man aiming to reach the pinnacle of wealth and power by using the nation as a profit model, and prosecutor Jang Geon-young (played by Jung Woo-sung), who relentlessly pursues him to the brink. The series confronts them with monumental events that define the era. 'Made In Korea' debuts its first two episodes today, reaching audiences worldwide.

The released duo poster captures the contrasting temperatures of the two characters with opposing color schemes, highlighting their conflict. As director Woo Min-ho describes, "If Baek Ki-tae is a cold character, Jang Geon-young is a hot one." 'Made In Korea' promises an intense showdown between these two men, filled with high-stakes drama and intricate storytelling.

The preview stills from episodes 1 and 2 further heighten anticipation. They showcase the intense rivalry between the ambitious businessman Baek Ki-tae and the single-minded prosecutor Jang Geon-young, who is on the trail of a crime cartel. Baek Ki-tae, seen seated on a plane, exudes a mysterious aura that piques curiosity. His relaxed demeanor in the first still contrasts sharply with another image that hints at his ruthless determination to achieve his goals.

In contrast, prosecutor Jang Geon-young, who stands against Baek Ki-tae, is depicted in scenes of a completely different tone. His large glasses and rugged coat emphasize his character's presence. A captured moment of their confrontation amplifies their differences, delivering a palpable tension. As Baek Ki-tae leads a double life in pursuit of wealth and power, Jang Geon-young faces him head-on in the crime cartel's reality. Their first direct clash marks the beginning of a fierce battle of desires.

'Made In Korea' episodes 1 and 2 are available today on Disney+, with two more episodes releasing on December 31, one on January 7, and another on January 14, totaling six episodes.
