Kian84's Past Remarks on IV Drips Resurface Amidst 'Injection Aunt' Controversy

Amidst the ongoing 'Injection Aunt' controversy in the entertainment industry, broadcaster Kian84's past comments about colleagues receiving IV drips at an awards ceremony have resurfaced.

Kian84 and singer Henry won the Best Couple Award at the '2019 MBC Entertainment Awards' for their appearances on the variety show 'I Live Alone.'

During his acceptance speech, Kian84 revealed that comedian Park Na-rae and broadcaster Jun Hyun-moo had received IV drips. He began by saying, "The show I started unexpectedly has been running for four years. Originally, Hyun-moo and other seniors were here, but somehow I've become the longest-standing member."

Kian84 expressed gratitude to his colleagues, mentioning Park Na-rae, "She went for IV drips once or twice this year while doing the show. She's not in good health and needs to cut down on drinking." He added, "What's more heartbreaking is that Hyun-moo also received an IV drip when we went to see Cheomseongdae in Gyeongju."

At the time, it was unclear whether Jun Hyun-moo and Park Na-rae's treatments followed proper procedures. Kian84's comments were personal observations without specific medical context or prescriptions.

However, with rising public awareness of illegal medical procedures in the entertainment industry, Kian84's past video has resurfaced. The awards ceremony video on MBC's official YouTube channel 'MBCentertainment' has been re-exposed by algorithms, attracting new comments. Many comments also mention Park Na-rae, who recently stepped down from all programs on November 9.

Park Na-rae is currently embroiled in legal disputes. Her former managers claimed on November 3 that they suffered workplace harassment, including special assault, sexual harassment, and verbal abuse, and filed for a property seizure at the Seoul Western District Court. On November 5, they filed a lawsuit against Park Na-rae at the Seoul Gangnam Police Station for special assault and defamation by spreading false information, announcing a damages claim of over 100 million won. Park Na-rae issued an apology and withdrew from all her shows.

Meanwhile, Jun Hyun-moo faced controversy in 2016 when he was shown receiving an IV drip while traveling in a car during 'I Live Alone.' His agency, SM C&C, clarified, "It was done under a doctor's judgment, and there was no private call to medical personnel or illegal procedures."
