On the 19th, Key posted a photo on his Instagram with the caption, "smile brother smile, miss you." The photo featured the late SHINee member Jonghyun. The caption is interpreted as a tribute to Jonghyun.
Previously, Key found himself at the center of controversy due to his alleged association with 'Injection Auntie' A, who is linked to broadcaster Park Na-rae's illegal medical procedure allegations. The controversy began when a photo of a dog, believed to be Key's pet, appeared on A's social media.
On the 17th, 12 days after the controversy arose, Key released an official statement. His agency, SM Entertainment, stated, "Key was introduced to A as a doctor at a hospital in Gangnam through a friend's recommendation. He has since received treatment at the hospital and, on a few occasions, at home when visiting the hospital was not possible," acknowledging the illegal medical procedure allegations.
The statement continued, "Key recognizes the seriousness of this matter and has decided to step down from scheduled activities and programs he is currently appearing in. We sincerely apologize for causing concern to fans and everyone involved," announcing his temporary suspension from broadcasting activities.
