'Queen Mantis' is a high-intensity crime thriller that unfolds 20 years after the capture of a notorious serial killer known as 'Mantis.' A copycat crime emerges, leading a detective to collaborate unexpectedly with his mother, the original 'Mantis,' to solve the case. Ko Hyun-jung plays the role of the serial killer 'Jung Yi-shin,' delivering a gripping performance that has captivated viewers and solidified her status as a 'thriller goddess.'
'Love Scout' is a romantic drama that elevates both excitement and sweetness levels. It follows the story of Ji-yoon, a CEO of a headhunting company who excels at work, and Eun-ho, a secretary who is perfect in every way. Han Ji-min portrays the role of the CEO, delivering a compelling office romance that showcases her prowess as a 'melodrama goddess.'
'The Winning Try' is a comedic sports drama about an unpredictable director, Joo Ga-ram, and the last-place rugby team of Hanyang High School as they strive for victory in the national competition. Yoon Kye-sang's portrayal of the team's coach has been praised for its depth, making him a strong contender for his first SBS Drama Award as the 'god of victory.'
'Taxi Driver 3' is a private revenge drama where a mysterious taxi company, Rainbow Transport, and its driver, Kim Do-gi, deliver justice for wronged victims. Lee Je-hoon, as the formidable 'God of Justice,' has led the series to its third season, showcasing his undeniable presence. All eyes are on whether he will clinch his second SBS Drama Award.
Lastly, 'Buried Hearts' follows Seo Dong-joo, who hacks into a political slush fund worth 2 trillion won and fights against absolute evil to dismantle their world. Park Hyung-sik's portrayal of an ambitious man willing to risk everything has left a lasting impression on viewers. Returning to SBS after a decade, Park Hyung-sik's potential win as the 'god of revenge' is highly anticipated.
Voting for the Best Couple at the '2025 SBS Drama Awards' has also begun. The nominees include Han Ji-min and Lee Jun-hyuk from 'Love Scout,' Park Hyung-sik and Hong Hwa-yeon from 'Buried Hearts,' Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon from 'The Haunted Palace,' Ha Yoo-joon and Park Ji-hu from 'Spring of Youth,' Choi Woo-shik and Jung So-min from 'Would You Marry Me,' and Jang Ki-yong and Ahn Eun-jin from 'Dynamite Kiss.' The Best Couple will be determined by a combination of 70% online votes and 30% judges' votes.
Notably, some leading actors from this year's SBS Friday-Saturday dramas, such as Namgoong Min, Yook Sung-jae, and Choi Woo-shik, did not make it to the list of Grand Prize nominees.
