Actor Park Seo-jun has revealed that the script for his upcoming drama was revised based on his suggestion.
On the 4th, a press conference for JTBC's new weekend drama 'Surely Tomorrow' was held at The Link Hotel Seoul in Guro-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by director Lim Hyun-wook, actors Park Seo-jun, and Won Ji-an.
'Surely Tomorrow' is a romance drama about Lee Kyung-do (played by Park Seo-jun) and Seo Ji-woo (played by Won Ji-an), who reunite as a journalist reporting on an affair scandal and the wife of the scandal's protagonist after having broken up twice.
Park Seo-jun takes on the role of Lee Kyung-do, the deputy head of the entertainment department at Dongwoon Daily. He described his character as "a consistent person, a pure-hearted romantic. He is delicate, kind, and considerate, yet has a strong will."
Regarding his decision to join the cast, Park Seo-jun stated, "I thought that if I could express the multi-dimensional narrative delicately, we could create a great drama." He added, "I filmed scenes set at ages 20, 28, and the current age of 38, imagining the gaps in between. Although the character is consistent, I tried to pay attention to the detailed emotions that change with age."
The decision for Park Seo-jun to portray Lee Kyung-do from age 20 to his late 30s was based on his input. He explained, "When I first received the script, the current setting was in the mid-40s, and a child actor was supposed to play the 20-year-old version. After reading the script, I suggested that it might be better if I could play the character from age 20, and thankfully, they revised it accordingly. Since the narrative starts at age 20, I thought it was necessary for the drama's completion. Of course, playing a 20-year-old was quite challenging in terms of appearance."
'Surely Tomorrow' premieres on the 6th at 10:40 PM.
