Veteran Actor Lee Soon-jae Passes Away at 91: Tributes Pour In from the Entertainment Industry
Veteran actor Lee Soon-jae passed away on the 25th at the age of 91. The entertainment industry, along with fellow actors, is mourning his loss. As the news broke early in the morning, more tributes from celebrities are expected to follow.

Model and actor Bae Jung-nam took to Instagram to express his condolences, saying, "Lee Soon-jae, may you rest in peace. It was the greatest honor of my life to work with such a respected teacher in a drama. Rest well, sir." The two had worked together on the KBS2 drama 'Dog Sound.'

Actor Jung Bo-seok also shared his tribute on social media, stating, "Thank you so much for everything, teacher. I learned a lot about acting, life, and the attitude of an actor from you." He described Lee as a true mentor in his life, adding, "Every step you took was the beginning and history of our broadcast acting." Jung and Lee had met on the popular MBC sitcom 'High Kick Without Hesitation.'

Some actors echoed Lee's acceptance speech from last year's KBS 2024 Drama Awards, where he received the Grand Prize. At the time, Lee expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you to the viewers who watched until late. I have received a lot of help throughout my life. I sincerely thank you."

Actress Kim Hye-soo quoted this on her social media, saying, "I have received a lot of help throughout my life. Thank you." Park Eun-hye also expressed her gratitude, stating, "We have also received a lot of help and support," and added, "You gave hope and joy to the entire nation through your work. We all owe you a lot and are grateful."

Even idol singers paid their respects. Girls' Generation member Taeyeon shared a photo with Lee Soon-jae, accompanied by a praying hands emoji. Fellow member Yuri had acted alongside Lee in the 2019 play 'Grandpa Henri and I,' which likely led to their connection.

Former AOA member Kwon Mina, who worked with Lee on the tvN drama 'Grandpas Over Flowers Investigation Team,' reminisced, "He gave me a lot of good advice, which became a turning point for me at the time." She added, "I miss his warm smile, and his acting will remain forever."

Lee Soon-jae, who was the oldest active actor, passed away early in the morning. He was 91 years old. A memorial has not yet been arranged. Throughout his life, he was active in broadcasting, film, and theater. Until recently, he appeared in the play 'Waiting for Godot' and the KBS2 drama 'Dog Sound.' However, health concerns arose during both projects, causing worry among many.
