Actress Kang Hye-won is set to make her global acting debut in the Japanese drama 'キンパとおにぎり〜恋するふたりは似ていてちがう〜,'(첫입에 반하다) taking on the role of Park Rin. Previously, she debuted as a member of the group IZ*ONE, which included Jang Won-young, and transitioned to acting after the group's activities concluded in April 2021.
The drama 'キンパとおにぎり〜恋するふたりは似ていてちがう〜' is a pure love story that conveys the heartfelt emotions of two people drawn to each other despite the cultural and value differences between Japan and Korea.
Kang Hye-won will portray Park Rin, a graduate student studying abroad in Japan, who navigates the challenges of reality while pursuing her dreams. Her character is expected to be vividly portrayed through Kang's charming appeal and ambiance.
Park Rin is a character who diligently lives each day, balancing the realities of daily life and her future dreams of studying animation. Kang's lovely charm is anticipated to bring a diverse portrayal to the character.
Kang Hye-won will be acting alongside Japanese actor Eiji Akaso, known for his wide-ranging performances in films like '近畿地方のある場所について' and '366日.' Akaso plays a former marathon ace who, after experiencing setbacks, finds new meaning in life through his love for Park Rin.
The drama's production team praised Kang Hye-won, stating, "She has shown her presence as an actress in numerous Korean dramas. Although this is her first appearance in a Japanese terrestrial drama, she is effectively communicating with the staff from both countries and handling many Japanese lines."

'キンパとおにぎり〜恋するふたりは似ていてちがう〜,' featuring Kang Hye-won, will air every Monday at 11:06 PM starting January 12 and will also be available on the streaming platform Netflix.
