Actor Go Geon-han has captivated audiences with his dynamic performance, balancing between being unlikable and warm-hearted in the SBS drama 'Marry Me, Universe,' which concluded on the 15th.
In the drama, Go Geon-han played the role of Jang Eung-soo, bringing complex emotions to life and adding depth to his character. In episode 8, his nuanced portrayal caught viewers' attention. After suspecting his father, Jang Han-goo (played by Kim Young-min), of infidelity, he maintained his composure while driving him to the airport for a business trip to the U.S., suggesting, "You should call mom more often," and "It would be nice to buy her favorite snacks and shoes from the duty-free shop."
However, his disappointment was palpable when Han-goo couldn't even remember his wife's shoe size, and his silent resignation was evident as he refrained from saying more.
In episodes 9 and 10, Go Geon-han's character became a reliable ally to his cousin Woo-joo (played by Choi Woo-shik), offering unintentional yet humorous advice on winning hearts and collaborating to gather evidence against Han-goo.
He strategically leaked false information about their grandmother's recovery in Han-goo's presence and provided evidence that Han-goo's affair was not coerced, creating a pivotal moment in the storyline. Throughout this, Go Geon-han skillfully depicted a range of emotions, including disappointment, anger, and frustration.
In episodes 11 and 12, the emotional depth intensified. When all of Han-goo's secrets were revealed in court, Go Geon-han's character couldn't hide his bitterness, yet he smiled with relief at his grandmother's recovery. Visiting Han-goo in prison, he expressed his anger at Han-goo's continued lies, vowing never to return, but relaxed into a smile at his mother's usual demeanor.
Since beginning his acting career in 2017, Go Geon-han has built a diverse filmography, appearing in dramas such as 'Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter,' 'Through the Darkness,' 'The Killing Vote,' 'Sweet Home,' 'My Perfect Secretary,' and the film 'The Outlaws 3.'
