Kim Jong-min Replaces Lee Yi-kyung as New Host of 'The Return of Superman'

KBS2's 'The Return of Superman' has announced Kim Jong-min as the new host, replacing Lee Yi-kyung. Lee Yi-kyung was initially set to join as the new MC, but his participation was canceled, leading to Kim Jong-min's appointment. Speculation among netizens suggests that Lee Yi-kyung's recent image damage due to false rumors may have influenced this decision. Meanwhile, another new MC, Lala, will join as planned.

On the 11th, the 'The Return of Superman' team stated, "With the program's revamp, we are introducing new MCs Kim Jong-min and Lala." They added, "The first recording with the new MCs will take place on the 19th, and the episode will air on the 26th." Initially, Lee Yi-kyung was set to be the new MC for 'The Return of Superman.' The show has not disclosed the reason for his sudden departure. However, netizens speculate that the baseless malicious rumors affecting his image might be a factor. Given that 'The Return of Superman' is a parenting program featuring young children, the production team likely faced challenges in appointing Lee Yi-kyung as the final MC after the revamp, despite the rumors being proven false.

Lee Yi-kyung recently faced difficulties due to false 19+ rumors generated by AI manipulation. Consequently, he decided to leave MBC's variety show 'Hangout with Yoo?' after three years. It is reported that the reason for his departure is the difficulty in continuing regular variety show appearances while managing domestic and international project schedules.
