K-Pop Star Jeon Somi Faces Legal Action Over Unauthorized Use of Red Cross Logo in Beauty Brand
K-pop sensation Jeon Somi has been accused of unauthorized use of the Red Cross logo for her beauty brand products.

The Seoul Seongdong Police Station announced on the 7th that they have received a complaint against Jeon Somi and the CEO of 'Beaubble Korea', identified as Mr. A, for violating the Korean Red Cross Organization Act.

The complainant argued that using the Red Cross emblem, which symbolizes medical and relief activities, for commercial purposes could undermine its significance and damage trust and neutrality in relief efforts.

Jeon Somi's beauty brand 'GLYF' recently faced criticism for using a design featuring a red cross on a white box during a new product promotion, which was deemed similar to the Red Cross logo.

According to Article 25 of the Korean Red Cross Organization Act, individuals or organizations are prohibited from using a red cross on a white background for business or advertising purposes without official approval from the Red Cross.

As the controversy grew, GLYF issued a statement saying, "We did not fully recognize the historical, humanitarian significance, and legal protection of the Red Cross emblem during production. We deeply apologize and are currently removing all related designs and content while taking measures to prevent recurrence."
