Actress Shin Ae-ra reminisced about her time studying in the United States with her two adopted daughters.
On the 5th, Shin Ae-ra's YouTube channel 'Shin Ae Life' released a video titled "Are you having trouble communicating with people, especially your children?"
In the video, Shin Ae-ra shared, "From 2014 to 2019, I studied Christian counseling in the U.S. During that time, my husband was a 'goose father,' traveling back and forth."
She continued, "Our master bedroom in the U.S. was quite large, and my daughters were in the 1st and 3rd grades of elementary school. Since they were young, they shared a room with us. Our bed was on one side, and the three beds, including my daughters', were lined up. My daughters didn't know English when we went, so they must have faced challenges at school," she recalled.
Shin Ae-ra confessed, "After about six months, my daughters became very proficient in English and could even interpret for me," acknowledging the initial language struggles. In the video, Shin Ae-ra candidly discussed the importance of communication and emotional empathy with her children, sharing her experiences and learnings as a parent.
Meanwhile, Shin Ae-ra married actor Cha In-pyo in 1995 after co-starring in 'Love in Your Arms.' The couple welcomed a son in 1998 and adopted two daughters in 2005 and 2008. Notably, last year, Shin Ae-ra announced that her eldest daughter had been accepted into the University of California, Berkeley.
