Kim Young-kwang played the dual role of Lee Kyung, an after-school art instructor and club MD involved in drug trafficking, in the KBS 2TV weekend mini-series 'Eunsoo's Good Day'. The final episode, which aired on the 26th, concluded with a nationwide viewership rating of 4.9%.
In the last episode, Lee Kyung is arrested by the police and learns that Tae-gu (played by Park Yong-woo) is on the run after murdering Eunsoo's (played by Lee Young-ae) husband. When Eunsoo is also arrested and interrogated, Lee Kyung gives a false statement to protect her. Persuaded by narcotics detective Kyung-do (played by Kwon Ji-woo), Lee Kyung collaborates with the police to devise a plan to capture Tae-gu. The three characters reunite in a tense showdown, but ultimately fail to apprehend Tae-gu.
With Tae-gu missing, the case is closed. After serving his time, Lee Kyung visits Eunsoo to express his gratitude by giving her a bag of money, leaving viewers moved by his sincere wish for her happiness.
Having completed his revenge against Hwi-rim (played by Do Sang-woo), Lee Kyung seems to find peace with his family. However, he is thrown into turmoil upon discovering that his father turned a blind eye to his false charges for the company's benefit. Overcome with despair, he wanders the streets and ends up on the rooftop of a high-rise building, leaving viewers with a sense of both sadness and lingering emotion.
Through his agency, Wide S Company, Kim Young-kwang expressed, "It was a meaningful experience to portray a character like Lee Kyung, whom I had never encountered before. Playing a kind teacher entangled in a dangerous world kept me in a state of tension and immersion on set."
He added, "I am grateful for the opportunity to work with senior and junior actors, including Lee Young-ae, in such a collaborative environment. I sincerely thank the viewers who supported Lee Kyung's journey until the end, and I look forward to greeting you with more great projects in the future."
Meanwhile, Kim Young-kwang will soon meet audiences again with the release of his new film 'First Ride' on the 29th.
